Lake Birrabeen
Lake Birrabeen is one of 4 spectacular Blue Lakes found on Fraser Island. With snow white sandy beaches and crystal clear blue fresh water, set in the middle of beautiful rainforest, Lake Birrabeen is a tour highlight on Fraser Island. Less well known and harder to access than Lake McKenzie, Lake Birrabeen is the largest of the Blue Lakes, and considered by locals and those in the know as the most beautiful lake on Fraser Island.
Indian Head
Indian Head on the Northern end of 75 Mile Beach is a spectacular Rocky Headland famous for never-ending views along the eastern beaches and out to sea. Here we see marine life on display, as Dolphins, Turtles, Sharks, Fish and migrating Humpback Whales gather around Indian Head in full view for us to enjoy.
Eli Creek
Eli Creek is the Largest fresh water stream flowing out to sea on the Eastern side of Fraser Island. Enjoy a refreshing dip in the cool sand filtered water as it flows between the sand dunes and out onto the beach. A board walk is built along the banks of the creek for those who want to just take pictures.
Maheno Ship Wreck
One of the worlds most photographed shipwrecks, the SS Maheno on 75 Mile Beach stands as a beautiful contrast between a pristine beach and a man made structure. Learn about the terrible night when the SS Maheno found itself beached on Fraser Island during a cyclone off the Fraser Coast in 1935.

Our 2-Bedroom Apartments are situated on 2nd and 3rd floor overlooking the resort and pool. Apartment consists of 2 single beds in one room, and a Queen size Double in the other room. An open plan lounge, dinning and kitchen area with a separate bathroom and toilet make this incredibly spacious apartment a pleasure to stay. A full length balcony offers lovely views of the resort.

What is the itinerary/schedule for the tour?
All activities are subjected to winds, tides, and weather conditions on the day. Therefore, there is no set time for the activities.
How long does it take to get to Moreton Island?
The boat trip is approximately 75 minutes from the Port of Brisbane to Moreton Island.
What are Local Fees/Pay On Board (POB) Fees? Why do I need to pay that?
The Local Fees/Pay On Board Fees include the return boat ticket and the national park fee. The national park fee allows you to access the National park/World Heritage Listed Area.

I am already on Moreton Island. Can I meet you on the island and join your activities (without the transfers)?
Yes, you can. You can meet us on the island to join either a full day package tour (including day kayaking, snorkeling & sand boarding AND get one picnic lunch), or join any of the activity individually. Please give us a call on +61 7 3287 1644 to book in advance.
What do I need to bring for the tour?
A towel, sunglasses, sunscreen, hat, thongs, waterproof camera, money to buy drinks or snacks from the licenced bar on the boat.
Do you provide wetsuit?
Yes, and for free.
Do you provide snorkelling gear?
We provide masks, gloves, snorkel and fins.
Do you have life jackets and safety equipment?
Yes, and for free. We have a wide range of life jackets and body board for floatation.
Do you supply towels?
No. Please bring your own towels.
Are shower facilities available on the island?
Yes. There is a cold shower for you to freshen up after your swim.
Is there any WIFI on the Island?
Unfortunately WIFI service is not available on the Island.
Do I need to bring my own sleeping bag?
Since you are not camping, linens are provided in the standard multi-share dorm room, private single or twin room, and in the Glamp tents.
Do I get any refund if any activity (kayaking and/or snorkeling) gets cancelled due to unfavorable weather conditions?
Unfortunately there is no refund if any activity gets cancelled due to bad weather conditions. Please kindly refer to our Terms and Conditions. We will try our best effort to replace the cancelled activity with an Island scenic tour when unpredictable weather condition happens, however this is not guaranteed.
Can I use my mobile phone and the internet on Fraser Island?
There is very limited or even no mobile phone reception on the Island from most of the service providers. There is OPTIONAL paid phone and internet service at Eurong Beach Resort.
What type of accommodation is offered during tour? Do we need to bring our own sleeping bag?
We stay in motel or hotel rooms at Eurong Beach Resort (depending on your choice of accommodation type) and we are not camping. Linen is provided and you do not need to bring any sleeping bag or pillows.
How many people are sharing a room?
Quad-share (4-share) rooms are offered on most occasions. However, accommodation provider might only be able to offer a 5-share rooms during busy/peak travel seasons.
Are there any toilets/bathroom facilities in the share accommodation?
Yes, each 4 or 5 share room includes a shower and a toilet.
Do you separate males and females in the share rooms?
The combination of customers in each share room is subject to the customers on tour. We always try our best to separate males and females, however we cannot guarantee an “all-female room” or an “all-male room” due to room availability.
Are there any shops on Fraser Island for me to buy food and drinks?
We recommend customers prepare their own snacks and drinks prior to departure as there is no shop on the Island.
What meals do I get on the tour?
Dinner is buffet style at the resort, and alternates between 3 themes - Australian, Mexican or Mediterranean, all with soup, hot &cold dishes, dessert, tea & coffee. A Continental buffet breakfast is served in the resort. Breakfast includes cereal, toast & condiments, fresh fruit, juice, tea & coffee, with an option to upgrade to a “HOT BREAKFAST” for an additional fee. Fraser Island 2-Day Tour travelers will be served a picnic lunch either on Day 1 or 2; 3-Day Tour travelers will be served a picnic lunch on Day 2. Fraser Island 2-Day Tour travelers must bring or purchaseone lunch while on tour;Fraser Island 3-Day travelers must bring or purchase two lunches while on tour. Our tour guide will stop at the town of Rainbow Beach and you will be able to purchase your lunch from cafes, fish & chips shop, or restaurants.
What are Local Fees/Pay On Board (POB) Fees? Why do I need to pay that?
The Local Fees/Pay On Board Fees include the ferry tickets and the national park fee. The national park fee allows you to access the national park/World Heritage Listed Area.
Are there any towels/amenities/hairdryer supplied in the accommodation?
Please bring your own towels, amenities and hairdryer (if needed) as these are not provided by the accommodation provider. Though bath towels are supplied in the upgraded accommodation type,we encourage you to bring your own beach towels as we are not permitted to use the resort’s bath towels as beach towels.
Can I change the travel date before tour departure?
Yes, you can. However, we can only allow one-time change (subject to availability), and the change must be made and confirmed with our reservations staff at least 24 hours prior to your original departure date. After one change has been made, no more change is allowed and a 100% cancellation fee applies (that is, no refund will be given).
Do I get any discount if I book another tour(s) with Australian Sunset Safaris?
Yes. You will receive 10% off the tour ticket price when you call us directly to book a second tour or third tour with us.
Is there any public holiday surcharge if I travel on public holidays?
Yes. There is AU$20 pp holiday surcharge for the Fraser Island 2-day and 3-day tours during Christmas holiday period, New Year’s Day and Easter long weekend. There is no surcharge on other public holidays.
